Edward Barta, Jr.

Ed was born February 7, 1954 in Lexington to Edward, Sr., and Charlene (Overton) Barta. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1972. He served in the Army from 1973 to 1976. Ed married Patsy Parsons on May 23, 1974 in Lexington and they made their home in Schuyler since 1988. Ed was a welder by trade and operated the family business, Love in Action, in Lexington for the past six months. Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, campin and working on cars. He died unexpectedly September 27th at Schuyler Memorial Hospital. Ed is survived by his wife, Patsy of Schuyler; four children, Suzanne Barta of Schuyler, Edie (Mrs. Kevin) Huntley of Columbus, Edward Daniel III (Jennifer) Barta of Columbus and Spencer Ray Barta of Schuyler; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Charlene Barta of Lexington; three brothers, Calvin (Cindy) Barta and Patrick (Julie) Bartton both of Texas and David (special friend) Debbie Howe) of Schuyler; two sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Harvey) Thomas of Schuyler and Patty Boeckman of Lexington; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Edward, Sr.; one brother-in-law, Dusty Boeckman. Burial will be at 3 PM on Friday, October 1st at McPherson National Cemetry at Maxwell, NE. Funeral dinner will be served at the Christ United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
